Kisah spesial Pulau Tangan no Bouken berlatarkan sedikit sebelum peristiwa One Piece Film Z dan menggambarkan insiden besar "Pulau Tangan" selama alur cerita Dunia Baru. Ceritanya berlatar di "Kota Meriam" di mana orang tua dan seorang anak bekerja sebagai pengrajin. Insiden tersebut berkisar pada mereka dan seorang komodor pangkalan laut.
